Wanjigi Tells Luos not to Be Synonymous with Opposition,
The politician said it was time for the community to be in government Ex-Safina presidential hopeful Jimmy Wanjigi has called on voters in the larger Nyanza region not to wait for another 10 years in opposition. Wanjigi was speaking at the funeral ceremony of Violet Dawa, wife to Legion Maria reverend and politician Willis Ondiek in Ratado, Ugenya, Siaya county. The event was also graced by Siaya governor James Orengo and a host of Siaya county MCAs. Wanjigi sought to persuade locals against following "one man" to a point where Nyanza has become synonymous with opposition. “Are you going to wait for another 10 years out of (political) power? Your region has a good history of having fought for rights and freedoms that we enjoy yet you are still outside power. You deserve to be inside power,” Wanjigi opined. Wanjigi said that the region must devise a multi-pronged strategy and be part of those who form governments instead of always banking all their hopes in one man
