Postmortem Reveals Cause of IEBC Officer’s Death

An autopsy report has revealed that the slain Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) staff Daniel Musyoka was strangled to death.

A team of five pathologists who were deployed at Oloitokitok Sub-County Hospital Mortuary operated on his body before giving the report.

Among those who witnessed the post mortem were his family members, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and IEBC officials.

The pathologists also carried to Nairobi some components for further forensic investigations.

Musyoka, 53, was assigned to Embakasi East Constituency as the Returning Officer in the Tuesday, August 9 elections.

However, the country was shocked after reports of his disappearance broke on August 11. Musyoka’s body would later be discovered at the Amboseli National Park on Monday, August 15.

His body exhibited signs of torture and was naked at the time of discovery, according to police reports.
